Jesper Theil Hansen


Jan 2020 – Jun 2021 — Scan-IT, CEO

Scan-IT is the software branch of Danish logistics and shipping group Scan-Group. Scan-IT develops the enterprise software, Phoenix, used by Scan-Group's different companies in the NVOCC Shipping business — the biggest being Shipco, headquartered in New York.

Software development in Scan-IT is done out of a development center in Pune, India, with approximately 150 people in the engineering organization. Phoenix is a cloud-hosted product on an Oracle platform, transitioning to Postgres while being decomposed into multiple services. Application and UI are built using standard modern open-source tools and agile development methodology.

Management was done from Scan-Group headquarters in Copenhagen with customers and engineers across the world and in India.


2018 – 2019 — Udviklings- og Forenklingsstyrelsen (UFST), Head of Office

Managing a team of developers, UX specialists and Scrum Masters working on two different projects — a mobile application and a data-exchange service. Acting as technical responsible for new projects starting up, hiring developers, and working with architects in the pre-analysis phase.

Used SAFe with 2-week sprints and PI-planning every 3 months. UFST is a large IT organization with both internal resources and many external consultants on projects ranging from small to very large multi-year engagements.


2011 – 2018 — Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen, Group Program Manager

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations

Led the team of Program Managers working on moving AX (now Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations) to the Azure Cloud and preparing it for the transition from classic software licensing to SaaS delivery in a DevOps model.


2009 – 2011 — Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen, Group Program Manager

Microsoft Dynamics NAV

In the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Client team, worked on carrying forward the investment made in building the "Business Client" under Dynamics Tools / Microsoft Business Framework, and using that as a new UI and user experience for Dynamics NAV.
